Golflands (also known as Karamu Golf Club) is a charming, family-oriented 9-hole course located in Mangateretere, the heart of Hawke’s Bay. Designed to play as a full 18 with alternate tees on the back nine, it features three par-5s and three par-4s that weave through gently rolling fairways lined with native trees and the meandering Karamu Stream. The undulating greens and occasional water hazard give players a taste of challenge without overwhelming newer golfers.
More than just golf, Golflands offers a lively mix of activities. There's a well-maintained driving range, a mini-golf layout, and even foot-golf, making it a perfect spot for families and groups looking for a fun day out. Condition
Golflands delivers year-round golf with well-maintained greens that roll true and fairly quick. Despite occasional winter wetness, the course generally holds up very well thanks to a dedicated small team. Overall, it’s kept in excellent condition.
Challenge
Golflands is primarily a short course that still provides a strong challenge for all skill levels. It offers forgiving tee shots for shorter hitters while testing longer players with tight doglegs and out-of-bounds areas. Despite its length, it can catch players of all standards off guard.
Facilities
Golflands boasts outstanding facilities just a short drive from Hastings center, offering everything for a great day out. Alongside a 9-hole course and driving range, there’s a café/bar with excellent food, a gift shop, mini golf, pickleball courts, and even Tesla charging stations. With a fully stocked golf shop, it caters perfectly to golfers and non-golfers alike.
