Howick Golf Club
Auckland - Tāmaki-makau-rau
Howick Golf Club sits on Musick Point, around 30 minutes from Auckland CBD, and is one of the most scenic courses in the region. Set high on the cliffs, it offers spectacular views across the bay while you play undulating fairways, with each hole framed beautifully by tall pines and mature trees. The coastal setting gives the course a real sense of character and makes every round feel a little special.
The course is generally in good condition throughout the year and is supported by a strong membership base. It is well played by Auckland golfers, and if you catch it on a good day, it is a course you will remember. Wind can be a factor given the exposed location, but carts are readily available, which helps make the round more comfortable when conditions pick up.
Facilities are solid, with a well-stocked pro shop offering everything you need before teeing off. The clubhouse is open during the week, though not every day, so it is worth checking ahead if you plan to stay for lunch. With its outstanding location, coastal views, and an excellent golfing test, Howick Golf Club delivers a memorable experience for golfers of all levels.

Condition
The course stays in good condition throughout the year. It can get a little wet during winter, but overall it presents very well. A strong team of greenkeepers maintains the course with regular work, keeping fairways, greens, and surrounds in good order year-round.
Challenge
The course is not overly long, but the undulating fairways and constant elevation changes keep you thinking. A good mix of doglegs, tighter fairways, and tree-lined holes provides a solid test for all abilities. When you play well here, you know you have earned it.
Facilities
The club offers a full 18-hole layout, with the 9th hole returning to the clubhouse. Facilities are excellent, with a fully operating clubhouse, pro shop, and carts available for hire. The club has all the amenities you need for a comfortable day at the course, be aware there is no real range at the course though.
Value for Money
At $85 for non-affiliates and $70 for affiliates, this represents good value by Auckland standards. With cliff-top views and a well-presented course, it is a price that feels justified for the experience on offer.
