Taupō - Centennial Golf Club

Taupo Golf Club is located close to Taupō township on the shores of Lake Taupō. The club operates two separate 18 hole courses and is the only golf club in New Zealand to offer two full length layouts at the same venue. The courses are set in a mature parkland environment with geothermal features and views toward Mount Tauhara.
Taupō Golf Club was established in 1928, when the Tauhara course opened as a nine hole layout. It was extended to 18 holes in 1954. The second course, Centennial, was opened in 1973 and was designed by Ernie Southerden, a two time New Zealand PGA Championship winner.
The Centennial Course is an 18 hole championship layout measuring approximately 6,369 metres. It is a traditional inland parkland course with tree lined fairways and greens protected by bunkering. The course places emphasis on controlled driving and accurate approach play and includes one of the more demanding finishing holes in the country.
The Tauhara Course is an 18 hole layout measuring approximately 5,645 metres. It is shorter in length and reflects the volcanic parkland terrain of the Taupō region. The course is commonly used for social, corporate, and junior golf and provides a more accessible playing option while remaining a full length course.

The club is located close to Taupō accommodation, dining, and regional attractions and suits golfers seeking either a championship test or a more relaxed parkland round within the same venue.
