Reporoa Golf Club

Waikato

Reporoa Golf Club, formerly known as Waiotapu Valley Golf Club, is a classic New Zealand country course set in a quiet rural location. The club has a strong community feel and has been a staple of the local golfing scene for decades. The course features gently rolling fairways, tree-lined corridors, and a mix of holes that reward both accuracy and strategy. Shorter, approachable holes sit alongside longer, more demanding ones, giving players of all levels a chance to enjoy the round.

The setting is one of the course’s highlights — surrounded by pastoral landscapes, native trees, and open skies, it offers a peaceful and scenic experience. Wildlife can often be seen around the fairways, and the natural contours of the land provide subtle challenges without being intimidating. Though not a championship course, it has plenty of character and charm, combining a relaxed pace with thoughtful play.

The club’s history as Waiotapu Valley Golf Club adds an extra layer of heritage, with generations of local golfers having walked its fairways. That continuity, combined with a layout that is both enjoyable and testing, gives Reporoa a unique personality among New Zealand country courses.

The clubhouse is open on club days, providing drinks and light refreshments. There are basic practice areas, including a putting green and chipping area. Visitors can easily arrange tee times and green fees, and self-contained caravans are welcome on site. The friendly, community-focused atmosphere adds to the charm of the course.
