Must plays in New Zealand

We've now played over 55 courses across New Zealand

This is our list of must plays

Manawatū-Whanganui, North Island

Set in links style land, this course is ranked as our best course at $40 and under. The front 9 is carved perfectly through the rugged landscape. If you hit it off-line you will need to shape the ball back to the fairway and once you're on the fairway you'll rarely find a flat lie.

This is a must play purely as most won't have heard of it, but if you can, play this course and enjoy a beer afterwards overlooking the course from the clubhouse perched at the highest point of the course!

It's a course you won't forget.

Wellington, North Island

Karori was one of the biggest surprises so far on this journey. Around 30 minutes drive out of the capital city, this remote country golf course is run entirely by volunteers and opens every day for golfers to come and enjoy.

The course is set in the ranges with almost every hole having some degree of elevation change to calculate.

Sean's favourite hole is the par 3, 6th. An awesome little tee box set in the bush, hitting to such a small green; incredible.

For $40, this is a must play if you're in the Capital!

Waikato, North Island

One of a kind in the world (we think).

Only 2 minutes from the centre of Rotorua, this course is set on active geo thermal land. The back 9 weaves its way through the lakes and active springs. It's a course you have to play!

The course is in excellent condition all year round and has a great variety of holes, which will test you. Playing here is a treat and certainly worth the $65 green fee.

If you're visiting Rotorua then bring your clubs and play here!

Nelson, South Island

Right on the beach, around 40 mins from Nelson Airport you'll find this true hidden gem.

With the Nelson area known for having more sunny days than most of New Zealand, this course is worth playing.

It's not the longest course, but its tight; you need to drive the ball sensibly to score well.

Every hole is framed beautifully - it's a course you'll thoroughly enjoy playing.
